Great article. I just finished the Telemachy so I’m still early on in the story. Do you have any more insights on the shade of Achilles? I’ve heard from people more knowledgeable about these things than I that one’s shade is not a true reflection of a person’s soul. Rather it is a lesser version of one’s self. If this were true we should probably not take anything the shade says at face value. However I am far from an expert and would love to hear what someone more knowledgeable has to say about the matter.
If mycenaeans have Caucasus origins and moved to Greece through Anatolia, as many are claiming these days, maybe the Trojans are a splinter group that stayed put in Mysia instead of crossing the Hellespont with the rest of the Hellenes, becoming a related group, both foreign and familiar.
There is a pretty visible archaeological movement from the Kurganized North Balkans to Greece that lines up with the arrival of Steppe ancestry in the late 3rd Millennium BC. I'm quite confident that the Greeks came from the North.
Before I spend an hour of my previous time watching this, and more writing up a debunk, does it actually make a single original point? Because, there are about five thousand videos on YT “deboonking” race, and all of them are basically the same, and so any of the responses to any of those videos would suffice for this one as well.
I cant say for certain but this video is pretty popular and ive seen normies cite it often ,its by an historian allegdly, some points are unique ive not seen a response to it yet
He mentions at the end of the video how the army conducted iq tests which tested cultural knowledge instead of intelligence, and he mentions a book that states race as we know it was used in the 17th century to justify slavery. Havent seen any responses yet.
Kek! Does this guy think that the black-white IQ gap has never been re-tested since then? There is a plethora of evidence that test bias is *not* the cause of the black-white IQ gap
17th century conceptions of world races roughly match the divisions of humanity generated by cluster algorithms. At K=3 there is a clear Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid division, and the vast majority of people's self-identified race is correspondent to their best-fit genetic cluster. At K=4 Amerindians are added, which matches Linnaeus's racial taxonomy. At K=6, Australoids and Hottentots are added, which matches Blumenbach's idea of race. Obviously, Blumenbach wouldn't have been familiar with Hottentots, so you can't put that on him. People like him can think in their head that 17th century scientists and taxonomists were just being biased, but they were pretty much right about the major divisions of humanity.
The ear bones are calling....
Wilusa, Wilusa, we need the bones of the Luwian. May Tarḫunz strike down any who hold back the bones of your noble men.
